Over 20 years ago as AIDS and injecting drug use made a devastating impact in local communities in Dublin, a number of women gathered in Rialto. They were all mothers bereaved and seeking space to grieve the loss of their children, The same core group have met fortnightly over the past two decades to support one another and share their story through the medium of quilting.
Through many ups and downs they have completed yet another quilt and this summer will start out on a new one as they plan to recreate some of the memorial quilts that have gone missing over the years. You can read the Quilt Group’s reflections on their work in our book Drinking from the Same Cup. If you would like to support the Quilt Group in the next chapter of their amazing adventure then please get in touch with us.
